i was thinking about my "maybe this time" parody about the "maybe this time i'll win" justification of my incessant gambling. each "maybe this time" dream i've had ended up becoming a broken dream. so i'm doing another parody of "boulevard of broken dreams," this time relating it to gambling.

"a boulevard of broken dreams" is in the casino.
"the boulevard of broken dreams" is a parody of edward hopper's painting called "the nighthawks".

i've walked this woeful road, lo and behold the times i'd not struck gold
don't know when i'll go, but this hope for green, it dies very slow
i talk to slot machines on a boulevard of broken dreams
will they give money to hide the loss i won as i've walked this road?

i lost a load, i want a loan
i lost my loan, i want one...

i'm flattered oh-so much when slots surprise me
i'm flattered - slots will always cheer my being
i'm blind, but will the money-bandits chide me?
i guess the slots just won't

i walk around so blind, as my mind says "son, you've spent your life"
"on a thought you'd find yourself rich, you've barely kept your home"
needing things in life - money comes so heav'ly each year five
when it might arrive, i know i will be psyched - but i've got years more

i lost a load, i want a loan
i lost my loan, i want one...

i'm sad to know i've much less for house-siding
i'll have my car that's old til twenty-fifteen
sometimes i wish someone out there will sign me
til then i'll want a loan

i lost my loan, i want one

i saw elvis, james dean on the boulevard of broken dreams
i can sing ideas that i once wrote, and i can act and um...

i'm sad to know i'm no big man on nightly
i am a star to no one, please reveal me
sometimes i wish someone out there will sign me
til then, i'll want a loan
